THE BOSS of Fleet Alliance, Martin Brown, is forgoing the comfort of the Skypark HQ for an Arctic charity trek in the new year.

It is in support of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, which will help fund enhanced medical equipment for doctors and provide family support services for parents and carers – the hospital cares for 160,000 babies, children and young people every year.

The three-day trek commences at Rovaniemi in Finland – the official home town of Santa Claus right on the Arctic Circle – and involves covering an average 25k-35k per day while pulling a sledge in temperatures as low as -32 C degrees.

“The trek is going to test me both mentally and physically,” said Martin.

“But despite the brutal prospect, knowing I’m helping a very worthwhile cause – and if I’m lucky the chance of seeing of the Northern Lights in all their glory – will be adequate reward in itself.”

If you wish to donate to Martin’s cause, you can visit his Arctic Trek justgiving site.
