GDPR expert to speak at conference – will you be compliant?

CYBER and information security expert and British Standards author David Topping is the GDPR expert who will be giving an insight into new data protection laws at next week’s Leasing Broker Conference.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new law relating to data protection, due to take effect on 25 May 2018.

David is a veteran of the IT industry specialising in data; both its use and abuse.

He has worked on Big Data and Analytics at IBM as well as in specialist information security companies such as Brainloop AG.

An author, frequent conference speaker and commentator on Cybersecurity he is also one of the co-authors of British Standard 10010, the new standard dealing with information security at all levels, down to emails, that is pertinent to GDPR.

BS 10010:2017 specifies requirements for the creation, implementation, evaluation and improvement of Information Classification, Marking and Handling (ICMH) systems. It specifies requirements for classifying information, including defining how it may be accessed by users, both inside and outside the organisation, that own the information.
