A DECADE ago Hippo Motor Group was launched with the aim of offering the chance of accessing a car to all. With this in mind, the company has continually expanded into all areas of the car market and now it’s celebration time as Hippo hits ten years in business.

It now has websites that cover car finance, car leasing, used cars and prestige cars. Hippo wants to help everyone and it appears to be working for them.

Hippo Motor Group now employ around 100 staff across all departments including sales, logistics, marketing, preparation centre and body shop. This quick expansion of staff has come in the past two years as the company has grown thanks to new and loyal customers.

For the future, Hippo Motor Group is aiming to reach 120 members of staff to continue offering the great level of service they currently do for their customers before the end of the year. By the middle of 2018, the Hippo family will grow to close on 150 staff.

First leasing supermarket

It now has two sites open and available. The first is the custom-built showroom on Trident Way in Blackburn.

It was opened in 2013 and houses some of the most beautiful prestige cars on sale for customers to browse at. The second site is home to the preparation centre and body shop and is located not far away on Blakewater Road.

The first site is seeing an expansion both in terms of the building itself being extended and the introduction of the UK’s first leasing supermarket.

Customers will be able to visit the Hippo Leasing supermarket, lease a car and drive away the same day. Hippo is always thinking bigger.

Hippo Motor Group’s winning ways

Hippo Motor Group is five months into its tenth year and so many exciting events have already happened. These include winning the Growing Business Awards at the Hive Business Awards in May. They saw off tough competition from the likes of Gel-Clear, Multihog and Watson Ramsbottom. All worthy winners, but on this occasion, Hippo Motor Group took the prize.

Earlier in the year, Hippo Motor Group was runner-up at the Red Rose Awards for the Retail Business Award out of thousands of competitors who were considered. In the coming months, it has also been nominated for three categories at the BIBAS (Be Inspired Business Awards).

These include the Employer of the Year award, Medium Business of the Year and Business of the Year. Let’s wish Hippo luck.

Rewards for customers and staff

Hippo Motor Group understands that loyalty is what builds a company and staff. With that in mind, it has taken several steps to maintain customers’ loyalty also in order to continually build the business.

Hippo recently teamed up with Supercar Driver magazine and held a special breakfast meet at their showroom on Trident Way. Hippo invited 40 of their prestige customers to visit and browse the cars in the showroom and those brought by the drivers from Supercar Driver magazine. It was a special treat for the children that came along.

Hippo also conducts competitions and rewards just for its customers. The prizes are VIP tickets to events at Manchester Arena in their own Prime Experience suite. Customers and staff are offered the chance to get tickets to a VIP box in a variety of different ways and the feedback has been completely positive.

On 16 July this year, Hippo Motor Group is throwing a massive family day as a way of celebrating ten years of business and as a way of saying thank you to its staff for their hard work and their customers for their loyalty.

Hippo Motor Group has enjoyed ten amazing years in business and is looking forward to the next ten and the ten after that.
