THE Leasing Broker Federation, formerly the Small Fleet Leasing Federation, can trace its roots back to 2010. So here’s a bit of Federation chronology.
2010
- A series of informal broker dinners held at The Wharf, Teddington: the idea of the Small Fleet Leasing Federation germinates.
2013
- Launch of the Small Fleet Leasing Awards – supported by Volvo.
- 21 Companies entered.
- The Awards were celebrated at a “winners only” event in Mayfair for 18 people.
2014
- The Small Fleet Leasing Awards grows.
- Partners are Alphabet, Arval, Lex Autolease and Network.
- Sponsors are Advanced Driving Techniques and Nexus Vehicle Solutions.
- Awards chaired by David Brennan.
- 34 Companies entered.
- The Awards were celebrated in Piccadilly by 40 short-listed entrants, and partners and sponsors.
2015
- In January 2015 The Small Fleet Leasing Federation launches.
- A new dedicated section on Business Car Manager website is created, and a weekly email newsletter, providing industry information and news, is circulated to members.
- 68 Leasing Brokers join The Small Fleet Leasing Federation.
- The Small Fleet Leasing Federation sponsors the BVRLA Broker Karting Event in Milton Keynes.
- Partners are Alphabet, Arval, Lex Autolease and Network.
- Sponsors include Advanced Driving Techniques and 3 Sixty Solutions.
- Vehicle sponsor of the regional broker dinner events is Infiniti offering special lease terms and test drivers for brokers.
- Regional networking events held in four venues – Newbury, Alderley Edge, Cardiff and Brighton – were attended by 70 members and supporters – representing 25 different brokers.
- Small Fleet Leasing Awards overhauled with new categories to better reflect the sector.
- David Brennan continues as Chairman.
- Over 40 companies enter the 2015 Awards.
- End of year Federation luncheon and awards ceremony held in Corrigan’s of Mayfair on November 26 with over 70 attendees.
2016
- Federation rebrands to Leasing Broker Federation in response to growth of the channel. Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions joins as a Federation partner along with Alphabet, Arval and Lex Autolease.
- Sponsors include Advanced Driving Techniques, 3 Sixty Solutions and The Creative Merchants.
