SE Business is more than just a badge on the back of the latest Passat. Instead, for the latest 8th generation version, Volkswagen has listened to its fleet customers when creating the new trim.

Sally-Anne Norris, Volkswagen Passat Product Manager explained: “Features such as Sat Nav are key from a functionality point of view and the folding mirrors help to reduce repair costs for fleets.

We also had feedback that customers appreciate exterior differentiation to denote a different trim level, so we added the tinted glass and fog lights to enhance the exterior appearance.”

Then, to make sure that they’d got the spec right, they assessed the option uptake of the proposed SE Business equipment against the previous B7 Passat, liaised with automotive industry experts CAP to get their view and even held a preview event for key contract hire and leasing companies, who represented their many customers.
