“I know that his automotive sector experience in supporting sales growth and business development will be an asset to our business as we seek to deliver on the ambitious plans we have for the years ahead.”

Evans’ appointment follows the arrival in May of former international IBM executive Bernie Waldron as Nexus’ chairman picked for his technological expertise.

Evans said: “Nexus is a dynamic and entrepreneurial business with a strong leadership team and an impressive growth record. I am delighted to be joining at such an exciting time and I look forward to developing the sales and marketing strategy to further enhance Nexus’ market-leading position.”

Founded in 1999, Leeds-based Nexus has access to over 500,000 rental vehicles in more than 2,000 locations across the UK through its revolutionary intelligent booking and rental management system, IRIS.

Nexus has won numerous industry awards and twice appeared in the Sunday Times Profit Track 100, a league table of private companies with the fastest growing profit. The company attributes its success to outstanding customer service, technological innovation and quality-assessed supply partners.

Bowmark Capital, a leading private equity investment firm, acquired a majority shareholding in Nexus last December, 2015.
