VEHICLE leasing and finance credit broker Synergy Automotive has smashed its £5k charity target for Harrogate hospital charity The Rainbow Fund, four months ahead of its target date.

The dynamic fundraising drive has helped The Rainbow Fund purchase a life-saving blood pressure machine and an exhaled nitrous oxide machine for the children’s department at Harrogate District Hospital.

The target was achieved following Synergy’s latest challenging venture, which saw team members Lisa Burn and Damon Parsons compete in Ripley Castle’s gruelling 15km Yorkshire Warrior Challenge – described as “Yorkshire’s ultimate obstacle course”.

This is second time that Synergy employees have tackled the daunting course. Last September, MD Paul Parkinson and a 12-strong team successfully battled obstacles which include mountains of mud, slimy water and barbed wire. Lisa is also taking part in the Leeds half marathon on May 14.

Synergy Automotive – The Rainbow Fund’s exclusive corporate partner – is a champion of putting back into its local community, organising a series of fundraising events to accelerate its £5k fundraising goal.

Paul Parkinson said: “Completing the Warrior course is no mean feat and we’re very proud that Lisa and Damon have once again stepped up for one of the country’s hardest physical challenges. We’re planning another series of activities to keep the spotlight on The Rainbow Fund’s inspiring work.”

The Rainbow Fund founder and fundraising volunteer, Alexandra Vere, added: “We’re constantly amazed and delighted at Synergy’s drive and commitment. Well done to the team for delivering its fundraising target ahead of time and helping to provide life-saving equipment for the children’s department at Harrogate Hospital.”
