CONTINUING growth by fuel and mileage specialist The Miles Consultancy (TMC) has seen Ross Basnett move up to be chief operating officer.

He is responsible for the operational development of TMC’s expanding range of data-driven solutions for car and LCV fleets, which include fuel management – cards, mileage capture, audit and control – CO2 reporting, benefit in kind (BIK) fuel optimisation, expenses management, mobility solutions and grey fleet compliance management.

Ross began his fleet career at Somerfield Stores Ltd, where he managed and ran a large commercial and private vehicle fleet as well as heading up and turning around the performance of the chain’s home delivery service.

He joined TMC in 2013, as account director, from Fleet Operations Ltd. As consultant fleet manager there, he helped businesses improve their fleets’ efficiency with initiatives that often included implementing TMC cost-reduction solutions.

Paul Hollick, managing director of The Miles Consultancy, said: “Ross’s appointment further strengthens our management team as the company responds to fleets’ rising demand for service-led, accurate, meaningful data backed by solid cost-reduction expertise.

“Our incredible recent growth, in terms of size and new blue-chip client wins, has meant we need a larger leadership team. Ross will ensure we continue to deliver exceptional customer care and operational excellence throughout this exciting phase of TMC’s domestic and international evolution.”
