VOLVO has said no to direct broker terms, but will continue supporting the channel via the leasing companies.
Selwyn Cooper, Volvo’s head of business sales, told Leasing Broker News: “Our strategy is to continue supporting the leascos directly.
“And the reason for that is that the leascos have well-established and managed broker divisions. It makes much more sense for them to manage those premium brokers with their premium relationships directly, without us getting in the way.”
Selwyn said that Volvo would continue to provide tactical campaigns through the leasing channels for brokers to access.
In 2016, the five top-selling Volvos sold through the leasing broker channels were:
• Volvo XC60
• Volvo V40
• Volvo V60
• Volvo S60
• Volvo XC90
Selwyn reckoned that brokers would be selling more XC90 models this year as the model really came on stream.
A new XC60 model is due to be unveiled at Geneva this spring, while a brand new XC40 model is due later this year.
