VOLKSWAGEN Commercial Vehicles wants a piece of the broker action. “It’s a market channel that we cannot ignore because it’s growing so strongly,” explained Carl zu Dohna (below left), brand director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV).
Brokers’ total van leasing volumes increased by 13% to 67,239 units in H1 2016 stats from the BVRLA. There seems to be little sign this growth is falling away.
“We are talking with the big leasing companies to see what we can do with their broker channels,” continued zu Dohna. “We need to find a solution that works for us, the leasing companies and their brokers, and most importantly for our customers.”
Last year VWCV broke the 50,000 sales barrier, and while zu Dohna says that the company wants sustained and profitable growth it will not support an overheated market.
“Nevertheless, we want to get closer to brokers, find out how they operate and what they offer to the customer.”
