A NEW Kia Picanto was a real draw winner for an Essex hospice – thanks to Balgores Car & Van Leasing from Romford.
Balgores is the main corporate sponsor of the St Francis Hospice at Romford.
Saint Francis Hospice is a registered charity that employs 150 nurses, doctors and specialist healthcare staff who are supported by 800 volunteers. Together they provide care and help to more than 4,000 people across the boroughs of Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge and Brentwood.
David Holmes, data and direct marketing manager at the charity, said: “The raffle is one of our major fundraising initiatives which has raised more than £58,400 to help fund our extensive range of end of life care services to the community.
“We are also incredibly grateful to our big corporate supporters Balgores Leasing for supplying this superb car at a discounted price.”
It was out with the old motor and in with a fabulous new Kia Picanto for Peter and Edna Welch who were presented with the top prize at Saint Francis Hospice – a timely change as they’d had a previous model for 11 years!
Peter said: “We couldn’t believe it as we were looking to get a new Kia Picanto as they are such lovely little compact cars to drive but we had to put it off as Edna broke her shoulder.”
