BRISTOL’S Bluepoppy is backing a national cancer campaign, donating £50 for each car or van it leases to any Bristol-based business or individual in 2018 to the nearby national charity.

Bluepoppy Vehicle Solutions put the wheels in motion to unite with Penny Brohn UK after hearing how the charity’s integrative Bristol Whole Life Approach supports people and families facing the disease.

Customers must quote PENNY18 and the campaign could raise thousands of pounds.

Bluepoppy MD Andrew Starr said: “We were incredibly moved and motivated to see how Penny Brohn supports people to live well as they face a disease that changes lives.

“I know how devastating cancer can be, so we approached the worthy charity wanting to do our part.”

With over 37 years’ experience, Penny Brohn understands that cancer impacts everything and the number affected is increasing.

Its Bristol Whole Life Approach supports people with cancer and close supporters to participate in their health and wellbeing, before, during or after treatment.

The charity explores areas such as diet, exercise, relationships and managing stress, through free courses, one-to-one therapies, groups, a Treatment Support Clinic and national helpline.

Penny Brohn corporate partnerships manager Lewis Hay added: “We were amazed to hear about Bluepoppy’s fundraising drive.

“We rely on donations, so it’s a great start to a year in which we must raise over £2.5 million to reach the thousands of people locally and nationally needing our life-changing support.”

Bluepoppy proudly supports local sports organisations including Bristol City and Bristol Rovers football clubs, Bristol Rugby and Gloucestershire County Cricket Club.
