THE Leasing Broker market has a bright future, but there will be fewer businesses, particularly from those described as ‘bedroom brokers’ – an indication of the increasing professionalism in the sector.

That’s a conclusion from the first quarter Leasing Broker Federation Survey which charts the changing attitudes to the sector – and where growth and challenges are arising.

The LBF survey, in association with APD Global Research  looks at what the present looks like, and how brokers see the future of their sector.

It would seem that funders want to only support the established Brokers. It is also suggested that the ability to differentiate from the competition will become more of a challenge as service offerings become more uniform across the sector.

Competition will naturally come from brokers themselves but increasingly from dealers and the captive finance companies.

Online capability has to a certain extent levelled the playing field as brokers invest in their online presence.
