The offer is what it says on the tin really; the ability to have a motorbike in your garage when you want it, and not when you don’t.

A NATIONAL short term car leasing company has launched Bikes on Demand that it claims is the UK’s only ‘truly short term’ motorcycle leasing service as it continues to expand its business model.

Cars on Demand, based in Wakefield, has teamed up with Northamptonshire-based Spyder Motorcycles to offer short term motorcycle leasing from between one to five months, in response to customer demand.

Bikes on Demand will complement and expand on the company’s highly successful short term car leasing offering, which provides cars to individuals or businesses that require very short term access to vehicles starting from just 28 days.

The service will operate nationwide delivery and collection from Cars on Demand’s Silverstone branch, and will provide a flexible alternative to long term finance as the traditional option for motorbike enthusiasts wanting to access two wheels.

Paul Brown, managing director at Bikes on Demand, said: “Market research and customer feedback identified that there was a real gap in the market for short term motorbike leasing. Lots of motorbike enthusiasts want to be able to dip in and out of ownership, and Bikes on Demand means they can do just that.”

“The offer is what it says on the tin really; the ability to have a motorbike in your garage when you want it, and not when you don’t.”

As part of the service, customers will be able to choose from a range of motorbikes from brands including BMW, Ducati, KTM and Triumph, with prices starting at £493.50 for a one-month lease on an 803cc Ducati Scrambler.

Bikes on Demand will also offer customers the flexibility to adjust monthly payment amounts based on a higher or lower initial payment, and will arrange riders’ insurance for an additional charge.

Cars on Demand launched in 2003 and currently has eight depots across the UK including Horsham, Silverstone, Exeter, London, Aberdeen and Belfast. The company also privately leases a fleet of five supercars worth in excess of £1.2million.

Paul added: “I’m confident that the success of the Cars on Demand short term vehicle leasing model can be replicated with Bikes on Demand and that the partnership will be mutually beneficial in opening up new markets for both ourselves and Spyder Motorcycles.”
