HPI is said to be axing 100 staff at its Salisbury call centre as parent company Solera UK plans to sell the site.

The operations are to be merged with HPI sister company CAP Automotive, most likely in Leeds, according to a report in CarDealer Magazine.
CAP chief executive officer Ian Rendle explained in CarDealer Magazine:

“Our aim is to accelerate growth by bringing our CAP and HPI teams closer together. Each is already a brand leader in its field, and through better sharing of ideas, expertise and opportunities, we are confident we can unlock more product innovation and commercial success for the business overall.”

Separately, Solera’s parent company – Solera Holdings – is in sell out talks with private equity firms Thoma Bravo LLC and Vista Equity Partners for $53 a share, valuing the company at $3.6billion, according to Bloomberg.

As well as HPI and CAP Automotive, Solera UK owns Autodatex in the UK.
