INSIGHT Vehicle Management has bought Austin Vehicle Contracts to help develop its presence in the rapidly growing SME leasing market.

Insight was formed in 2002 and with parent company Fleet Operations manages 14,000 vehicles in the UK.

Lynn Austin stays with the company following the acquisition for an undisclosed sum, and brings a wealth of client contacts and fleet industry experience.

As Insight Vehicle Management buys Austin Vehicle Contracts it gives the former Austin customer base access to two of the largest finance companies in the UK, for better pricing combined with a full suite of vehicle fleet management services.

Lynn is joined by Mark Rodway who will bolster the sales support and administrative function in line with the expected increase in business volume, says Fleet Operations, adding that supporting the acquisition is a significant IT investment that is an integral part of an ambitious three-year plan to grow the business.

Operations director Richard Hipkiss said: “From the moment we first met Lynn it was clear that the combined business would accelerate the growth that both organisations were seeking.

“We were delighted agree the terms of the deal very quickly and in a short space of time Lynn has already demonstrated that she will be a valuable asset to our business.”

Chief executive Ross Jackson added: “As a wholly owned subsidiary of Fleet Operations this investment in our Insight Vehicle Management Division heralds a new era for the wider group as we seek to ensure that, regardless of fleet size, we offer a range of financial and operational solutions that can satisfy the varying demands of all corporate fleet customers.”
