JO ELMS has been appointed the new chair of the Leasing Broker Awards judges.
Jo will be overseeing the board of judges and ratifying the results as well as being present on the Awards evening at RSA House in London on November 23.
Jo is no stranger to the awards process, having judged the awards during its inaugural year in 2013 when they were known as the Small Fleet Leasing Awards.
“I’m delighted to accept the chair in what is becoming an increasingly important set of awards, recognising the excellence of brokers and the role they play in an expanding sector,” commented Jo Elms.
Many brokers will remember Jo as head of LeasePlan’s Network division before becoming commercial director of LeasePlan in July 2014. Earlier this year, Jo stepped away from LeasePlan to begin her own automotive and leasing consultancy ESE Consulting along with fleet experts Caroline Sandall and Sarah Easton.
Jo replaces former chair David Brennan, chief executive of Nexus Vehicle Rental, who decided to step down after three years in the role.

“Jo brings authority, gravitas and her vast experience of the broking sector to the awards, which can only enhance them further. I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks to David Brennan who has done such a fantastic job for us over the last three years.
“David has been instrumental in helping establish the importance of the Leasing Broker Awards.”
Jo will chair and ratify the judging process of the seven judges for the Leasing Broker Awards. The judges are:
- Graham Conway, head of Partner at Alphabet
- Todd Williams, head of broker at Arval
- Steve Cocks, director of Lex Autolease Broker Division
- Chris Swallow, national sales manager – associates at Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions
- Paul Hollick, chair of the ICFM & managing director at TMC
- Colin Tourick, Professor of Automotive Management, University of Buckingham
- Matt Bristow, manufacturer sales director, BCA
