BOSS of award-winning Vansdirect, Jane Pocock, took centre stage at the recent BVRLA 2018 Outlook Conference in Nottingham to represent the broker sector.

Having just collected the Best Van Leasing Broker Award for the second successive year, new BVRLA board member Jane was invited to represent the leasing broker sector as part of an expert panel for a Q & A session, after the conference was opened by BVRLA chairman and managing director of LeasePlan, Matt Dyer.

The panel also consisted of Tim Porter, managing director Lex Autolease, Jon Lawes, managing director Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions, Bob Baille of URG and James Taylor from DriveNow.

The topics covered during the Q&A included:

  • Digitisation,
  • Personal Leasing,
  • Compliancy,
  • Mobility Solutions,
  • Air Quality
  • and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

Jane commented:

“It was a great forum to discuss industry experiences and insight from a broker perspective in comparison to the major vehicle providers, and our future plans impacting on the market.

“I thought it gave a comprehensive view for the audience who were very engaging. It is an exciting time for brokers to embrace compliance. Being flexible smaller organisations we can adapt quickly and effectively to change, and for sure we have a lot of change coming with alternative fuel and electric product, and evolving consumer purchasing behaviours.”

Vansdirect is also sponsor of the Business Van of the Year Awards, 2018.
