ANY leasing brokers with customers wanting to take advantage of the Plug-in Car Grant for PHEVs – it’s too late.

The number of grants put aside for PHEVs during the transition period following the announcement of the grant cut have been taken up as of 00:01 on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

The same is also true for qualifying electric vehicle cars.

The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) said: “We expected an increase in orders during the transition period, as customers brought forward their purchases to take advantage of the higher grant rates. We therefore put limits on the number of orders that could be claimed at the new grant rates during the transition period.”

OLEV said the grant uptake levels had been significant and the limits it had set for the transition period were met by the afternoon of Friday, October 19, 2018.

It leaves the only Plug-in Car Grant available for zero emission cars at the reduced rate of £3500.
