Silverstone Fleet Management’s Holly Palmer was one of only three people in the UK to reach the final stage of the Nige O’Shea Inspiration Award.

Customer Care team member Palmer, 19, was eventually runner-up to Jade Griffiths from Low Cost Vans and receiving a glass trophy and £250 in Virgin Experience Day vouchers.

The  nationwide inspiration award was organised by LeasePlan UK in memory of Nige O’Shea, who sadly passed away in 2018 at the age of 52.

O’Shea had worked in the automotive industry since his apprenticeship and, nine years ago, launched a training programme aimed at strengthening customer service levels delivered through the LeasePlan UK franchise network.

The award was created to honour O’Shea and recognise the achievements of outstanding and inspirational members of staff in the automotive industry.

Palmer was recognised for her growth and attitude. She started at Silverstone Fleet Management as a trainee Sales Support Executive in 2018 straight out of school.

In her first 12 months at the business, she transitioned from the classroom to a fast-paced office environment, growing massively in confidence and quickly becoming a respected member of the team.

Scott Norville, Managing Director of Silverstone Fleet Management, said: “We are so proud of Holly for not only coming Runner Up in a national award scheme, but for what she has achieved since she started with us.

“We have seen her grow in confidence and make such a positive impact on the company. She now deals with audits for our trade body – the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) – as well as sales support and, most importantly, customer care, booking customer deliveries and liaising with all funding partners.”

“We have received numerous, glowing reviews about the hard work Holly has done over the last few months and it is great that she has received recognition at a national level.”
