YORKSHIRE-BASED Synergy Automotive will continue to be a bicycle donation station.

The brokerage’s highly successful campaign with Welcome to Yorkshire saw almost 100 unwanted bicycles delivered to its Harrogate headquarters.

Synergy is the preferred leasing provider to Welcome to Yorkshire, and the 63rd bike donation station in the Yorkshire Bank Bike Libraries programme.

Launched in 2014, the programme’s vision is to make cycling more accessible for all ages and all ability levels, enabling children and their families to borrow bikes for free.

An advocate of supporting its local communities, the team’s charity challenges across 2018 include The Yorkshire Three Peaks and an ‘It’s a Knockout’ contest. Monies raised will enable Harrogate Hospital Community Charity to purchase specialist equipment for the children’s outpatient department.

Synergy MD, Paul Parkinson, said: “The Bike Libraries programme is inspirational and gives many participants a new lease of life. We’re thrilled to be appointed as a donation station and look forward to our office storage space being filled to the rafters with even more bicycles!”

Sir Gary Verity Deputy Lieutenant, Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, commented: “It’s wonderful to hear of Synergy’s contribution and commitment to our award-winning Yorkshire Bank Bike Libraries programme, which was launched from the legacy of the Grand Depart and Tour De Yorkshire. Thanks to this ongoing support, we can continue to make a difference to the lives of thousands of children throughout the county by giving them greater access to bikes.”
