VOLKSWAGEN has announced the appointment of Patrick McGillycuddy to its head of sales operations role today (January 08, 2018).
McGillycuddy will start in the role from February 01, 2018.
Many brokers will remember McGillycuddy as head of fleet sales at Skoda when he joined the brand in 2013. Since then McGillycuddy became head of VW group fleet services and has most recently served in a strategic role for the group.
The new head of sales operations has extensive automotive industry experience, including periods with Chevrolet, Vauxhall and dealer group Peter Vardy.
Alison Jones, director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said on McGillycuddy’s appointment:
“Patrick will bring with him an impressive amount of industry experience both to the sales operations and as a member of the senior management team.
“This year is set to be another exciting one for Volkswagen in the UK with more really desirable new cars joining our already very strong line-up.”
McGillycuddy replaces Rod McLeod, who after over 21 years with the Volkswagen brand (including more than a decade as head of marketing) has taken up a new role within Volkswagen Group as Director of Skoda.
“Rod has been instrumental in the development of the brand for many years, including overseeing our industry-leading digital customer experience,” said Alison.
“His promotion is well deserved and we wish him well in his new role.”
